OPENING OF THE SESSION The Session was held at the Bali International Convention Center, Nusa Dua, Bali, at the kind invitation of the Government of Indonesia. Dr Rajendra Pachauri, Chairman of the IPCC, called the Session to order at 10.00 a.m. on Monday, 26 October 2009. In his opening speech, he expressed IPCC’s gratitude to the Government of Indonesia for hosting the 31st Session of the IPCC and highlighted the challenges facing the Panel in this crucial period ahead of the 15th Session of the Conference of the
